Black Friday is a great day for the Swim Open organization! We are very proud to announce the next Super Swimmer entering Swim Open next year, our own swedish fantastic breaststroker - Johannes Skagius!
Since a year ago Johannes has been in the great high performence team in Gras with the german ikon coach Dirk Lange. For Johannes that has been a real kick in his career and the last year he has been figthing back his position as one of the most interesting breaststrokers world around. The next challenge for Johannes will be the WC in Windsor in december, and then he will go all in for Swim Open Stockholm and World Championships i Hungary 2017 - we say welcome Johannes!
Today our organization are proud to inform that many of the great German topswimmers will compete at Swim Open Stockholm. The German Chefsbundestrainer Henning Lambertz has decide to use Swim Open as a Qualification Contest for the great German Team to represent in Budapest.

Today we proudly present the next Giant entering Swim Open Stockholm 2017 - SIMON SJÖDIN! Simon, swimming for Neptun, is one of the most succesful swedish male swimmers the last ten years with olympic starts in Beijing and in Rio. He is the current Swedish Record holder in seven events - All the IM distances in both short- and longcourse and also the recordholder in 200 butterfly, short-/longcourse. He also got four Nordic Records! Simon took his first international medal in 2008 at the European Championship LC in Eindhoven when he was part of the medley relay team winning the bronze medal. Individual he won the silver medal at European Championships SC 2013 in Herning, 200 IM, and the bronze medal in Netanya 2015 SC in 200 butterfly. He also swam the 200 IM final in Kazan-15. The organization are very proud to say - Welcome to Swim Open Stockholm SIMON!!!
Today we very proudly present the norwegian star Henrik Christiansen entering Swim Open Stockholm 2017! Henrik train with his coach Ronnie in Skjetten and he is one of the most interesting atheletes on the international scene for distance swimmers. The last year he has been in the Olympic Final at 1500 Free, won silver in London at 400 Free at the EC and also grab the bronze at shortcourse EC in Netanya, 1500 Free. A great year for him. And as a well tasting icing on the cake he won the prize "best male swimmer" and €10 000 at Swim Open Stockholm 2016!
Todays big news is that Eurosport 1 will view Swim Open Stockholm 2017 in Sweden. "Together with our partner Springmedia we are happy to announce Eurosport 1 broadcasting the event next year. This will give the many swim fans in Sweden the oppurtunity see this world-class event" says the organisation committé.
Today we very proudly present Sarah Sjöström as the first Superstar enter Swim Open Stockholm 2017!!! Sarah has a giant track record with seven gold medals at Word Championships, fifteen gold medals at European Championships, WR holder at 100 butterfly since 2009 and much, much more... On top of all her fantastic list of successes you also saw her win the 100 m butterfly with a new WR in Rio this summer. The first swedish female swimmer winning an olympic gold medal ever! She was also appointed as the The Best European Swimmer of the Year 2015 from Swimming World Magazine. Memorable is also that she won the prize for best female swimmer at Swim Open Stockholm 2016!
The Swim Open Stockholm organisation sends the biggest gratulations to the new World Record holder and Olympic Champion Sarah Sjöström and to all the other great swimmers from around the world competing in Rio. We are very happy to announce two great and very talented swimmers from Switzerland, Sasha Touretski and Svenja Stofell! They are both specialized in freestyle and butterfly sprint, not very suprising. Sasha´s father is the legendary Gennadi Touretski, former coach of many of the best sprintswimmers all time. Among them the giant Alexander Popov, the aussie superman Michael Klim and the russian four time olympic medalist Gennadiy Progoda.
We are very proud to welcome Simona Baumrtová from the Czech Republik to Swim Open. Simona is one of the greatest backtroker in Europe and she has won incredible twelve medals in different European and World champipnships the last six years. Welcome to Swim Open Simona!!!
Today a new superswimmers announced her participation at Swim Open. The world fastest women last year in 200 breaststroke - Viktoria Seynep GUNES from Turkey! Last year Viktoria was four time gold medalist at the World Junior Championship in Singapore. She won all the three breaststroke events and also the gold in 200 IM. She also won silver medal in Netanya at the EC i december. We are very proud to welcome Viktoria to Swim Open!

Today we finally and very proudly release the ENTRYLIST for this first edition of SWIM OPEN STOCKHOLM. There are almost 800 highly competitive swimmers from 30 different countries. Nearly 50 of them are medalists from EC, WC and the Olympics. You find the list here: ENTRYLIST
Today we very proudly can announce that one of the all time greatest medleyswimmer in Europe will come to Swim Open Stockholm. LUCA MARIN - ten times medalist at European and World Championships! Luca is one of the very few swimmers in the world who has beaten the superstar Lazlo Cseh in a fight for an international IM gold medal, Luca did it when he won EC gold at 400 IM 2006 in Helsinki. Welcome to Swim Open Luca!
Meet one of the most succesfull swimteams world wide at Swim Open - today we prudly present RUSSIA! The team of 12 superswimmers include names like ANASTASIIA FESIKOVA, silvermedalist in London 200 backstroke. We also see the the young sprinter EVGENY SEDOV, goldwinner of 50 freestyle at EC in Natanya. SERGEJ FESIKOV - the magnificant freestyler who has won seven gold medals at EC, WC and the Olympics. And don´t miss the young fast butterflyer SVETLANA CHIMROVA and the rest of the Russian swimmers races in Stockholm. Welcome Russia!
Today we very proudly announce that the Italian supersprinter Marco Orsi will participate at Swim Open! Marco is one of the hottest sprinter in the world and one of the potential medalists for the freestyle sprints in Rio. At EC in Netanya he won 100 freestyle and silver at 50 freestyle! With him also seven other international topswimmers from the great Italian Team will compete at Swim Open, among them we find the IM swimmer Federico Turrini, the great breaststroker Ilaria Scarcella and the fast backstroker Margherita Panziera.
Today one of the greatest freestyler in the world announced his participation at Swim Open. We say welcome to Velimir Stjepanovic, the current european champion from Serbia at 200 & 400 freestyle!!! With him we also say welcome to Ivan Lender, the olympic butterflyer and Stefan Sorak, freestyler. Both of them from Serbia too. We also welcome Megan Basford and Mohammed Madouh from Hamilton Aquatics in Dubai.
Today our pruduction team Springmedia announce that the biggest TV channel in Sweden, SVT, will do news update at Swim Open. Great news!

This weekend the Swedish Grand Prix was swam in the new 50 m pool in Hyllie, Malmö. The competition showed a lot of great results, particularly from the Swedish and Israeli toppswimmers. The Swedish megastar Sarah Sjöström broke the Swedish record on 50 back, 28,21 and on top of that she won five more events and showed very strong results overall. For many of the swimmers the GP was an important preparation for the upcoming Swim Open Stockholm.

There is a great interest for Swim Open in media. After request from TV to get the best opportunities for viewers, the Swim Open organization has decide to place the A-finals on prime time at 18.00 all four days. The B/C finals will then start at 16.30 (friday at 16.00). Those countries and clubs who needs to add rooms to sunday the 3rd please contact management@swimopenstockholm.se asap.
Today we proudly welcome Team Russia to Swim Open. They will participate with a strong team of twelve swimmers. Russia is the 18th country represented with swimmers on the event. The others are Denmark, Norwegian, Finland, Polen, Luxemburg, Croatia, Slovakia, Germany, Georgia, Israel, Iceland, Austria, Switzerland, Panama, Hong Kong, South Africa and Lithuania.
Today we can present the announcer team on Swim Open Stockholm. We are proud to say we have contracted the Dream Team for the event. As Anchorman we have the great and well known announcer Mikael Larsson! Around him we have a real supertrio. Lars Westholm, the very well known and high treasured announcer from Varberg. In the team we also see the proffesional announcer Hanna Westrin, earlier international topswimmer and ten times swedish champion. The forth person is the well known Peter Aronsson, also an earlier international topswimmer. Peter has been a commentator for many World Cup events for television.
Eurosport, who is broadcasting the event, will be commented by Bosse Hultén, very well known for innumeralbe championships in television. His sidekick will be the earlier Swedish National Head Coach Thomas Jansson!
