Today we say welcome to Medley. Medley runs 31 centers with  focus on exercise, swimming and experiences in 21 different communities around Sweden. Their motto are to work with a customer promise that a visit in a Medleycenter makes you happier!  But you don´t find only just pools in the centers, also gyms, cycling, yoga and pilates are other great activites in their program. For the youths there are funny activites like gymping and birthdays partys. In most of the centers you also find a great café and comfortable relax areas. We are very happy to have Medley as a partner to Swim Open Stockholm - Welcome Medley!

The swedish superstar Sarah Sjöström was earlier this year rewarded as the world swimmer of the year from Swimming World. The magazine definately has very good taste consider the Swim Open organization.  At European Shortcourse Championships in  Copenhagen she got this award officially. Congratulations Sarah!

Today we proudly say hello to the Loughborough University coming to next years exciting edition of Swim Open Stockholm. We all know the University as one of the greatest talentfactory in Europe.  The enviroment also hold the NTC Squad with coach Mel Marshall,  coach of the world fastest breaststroker all time - Adam Peaty! Will we see Adam in Stockholm? The team will be selected after the Winter Nationals in december, so after that we will present the fast swimmers coming to Stockholm. Welcome Loughborough University!

Today we proudly present the French backstroker Geoffroy MATHIEU, the current gold medalist from the French Nationals. Geoffroy also represented the French National Team at WC in Budapest, and you will off course see him at the EC LC in Copenhagen in December. Together with Geoffroy we will also meet some other great swimmers from the club Stade Clermontois Natation. Bienvenue France!

Todays big news is that Eurosport 1 also next year view Swim Open Stockholm 2018 in Sweden. "Together with our partner Springmedia we are happy to announce Eurosport 1 broadcasting the event next year. This will give the many swim fans in Sweden the oppurtunity see this world-class event" says the organisation committé.

Stockholm , the Capital of Scandinavia, is a city with many events. The same weekend as Swim Open Stockholm the city also is host for the World Synchronized Skating Championships. Therefor all of the clubs who requested Globe Hotel has been transfered to Clarion Hotel.  For those of you still havn´t made your reservation - don´t wait. Today we proudly present the great team from LITHUANIA for next years Swim Open Stockholm. In the team we find the fantastic backstroker and freestyler Danas Rapsys. Danas, who has eleven National Records in Lithuania, won the 200 free and 200 back  and also grab the bronze in 100 back at the Summer Universiade in Taipei this year. With Longcourse PB 53.79 in 100 back, 1.56.11 in 200 back and 1.45.75 in 200 free Danas is one of the more spectacular swimmers in Europe on the male side.  In the team we also find the young great breaststroker Andrius Sidlauskas. Andrius is former World Junior Champion in 2015, was part of the Lithuanian Olympic Team 2016 and this year he was placed as number six in the 100 breaststroke final at World Championship in Budapest with 59.21!  Yeah - it will be the third time we see the fantastic swimmers from the Lithuanian Team in Stockholm and they always perform at a great level - Welcome back!

Next year Swim Open Stockholm will be the first of two legs in the new Nordic Swim Tour. An interesting challenge we start up with the norwegian event Bergen Swim Festival. More information about the Nordic Swim Tour will follow in september, but prepare yourselves allready for great events in both Stockholm and Bergen next year!

The fourth day of this year Swim Open Stockholm showed a great final session and also many happy smiles. Philip Heinz, the german terminator, started the final day winning the 200 IM, 1:57:81. Then Franziska Hentke won the 200 Fly, 2:06:84 - a great race! At 800 Free Henrik Christiansen stole the show, 7:49:40, oh so strong every time he enters the pool! A new Swedish Record by the magnificant Jennie Johansson, and fastest this year, at 100 breast - 1:06:30. Norwegian winner at 50 Free, Niksja Stojkovski, 22:59. Also in this race a new Swedish Record, but a junior one by Björn Seeliger, 22:62. 800 Free, Sarah Köhler, so tough when she grab a new victory, 8:25:32 and then Johannes Skagius won the 50 Breast with a new Swedish Record, 27:16 - well done there Johannes! The last event - 100 free with Sarah Sjöström at the blocks in an amazing mode. New Swedish Record and also the fastest time this year, 52:54!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Swim Open Stockholm ended with the best performence prize award, and also great money there. On the mens side Philip Heinz took the third place (€2500), Ginedius Titenis won the silverposition (€5000) and all over winner with €7500 in prizemoney was the norwegian mean machine - Henrik Christiansen! For the women the fantastic Katinka Hosszu, who swam all the 17 events during the competition, won the third place, Michelle Colleman, always so cool and so great, won the second place and after an extreme competition the fantastic Sarah Sjöström won the first place! This edition of Swim Open Stockholm was a great success to many swimmers - we thank you all for being here and hope to see you and the spectators again next year, 4-7 of April. Don´t miss that!

Day three of this Swim Open Stockholm event continued with great performences in the pool. The fast german freestyler Sarah Böhler won 400 free, 4:06:72 - oh so fast! Then Quy Phuoc Hoang stole the show at mens 100 free, 49:96. The fantastic IRON LADY, Katinka Hosszu won the 200 back - 2:12:93, she is really a swimmingmachine! The norwegian Tomoe Zenimoto Hvas grab the victory at 200 fly, 2:01:13 and Rikke Møller Pedersen won the 200 breast, 2:25:59 - well done! The hungerian star David Verrastó show great skills at 400 IM - 4:10:21 and then Katinka won her second gold for the evening, 200 IM - 2:11:87. A tired IRON LADY - but always with a big smile!. 100 back, the lithuanian Danas Rapsys - great finish, 54:57. The last event was 50 free for the ladies... Sarah Sjöström - close to the worlds record, but today "only" a swedish record - 23.83. So fast, so fantastic, so Sarah! After this great day the swedish national head coach at the photo, Ulrika Sandmark, was real happy. Tomorrow the last days for the fantastic competition Swim Open Stockholm.

Day two of Swim Open Stockholm was a great day with world performences in the pool. Danas Rapsys started the todays victoryposition with the fast 200 free, 1:47:10. Then Sarah Sjöström won the 100 fly, new world best time 56:26. Giedrius Titenis won the 100 breast, 1:00:15. In that race the swedish swimmers Erik Persson broke the swedish record with 1:00:39 - well done! The IRON LADY Katinka Hosszu, who is swimming all events (17 ones + the premlins) won the 400 IM, 4:40:90. Then Wojciech Wojdak did a great race at 1500 free, 14:54:07. 100 Back, swedish victory again - Michelle Coleman, 1:00:28. 100 Fly, the german stylish swimmer Philip Heinz, 52:12. 50 Breast, swedish star Jennie Johansson, 30:57. And finally 50 back - also here a swede, Gustav Hökfelt, 25:34. Summery a great day with great results. In the evening the fantastic coach Dirk Lange had a frequented lecture with the theme Starts & Turns. A great final of this day - thanks Dirk!

The swedish Paraolympic star, Maja Reichard from Spårvägen Swim Club, yesterday broke the swedish record in s11, 50 fly. The new recordtime is now 34:29. And it´s also a new inofficial european record. Well done Maja!!!

Erik Persson, the talent swedish breaststroker, today crushed the swedish  & nordic record at 200 breaststroke with the fantastic time 2:07:85! Sarah Sjörström performed the world best time this year at 50 fly, 24:96, and so did Michele Coleman at 200 free, 1:55:64. Other winners was Ida Linborg, 50 back - 28:46. Katinka Hosszu, 1500 free, 16:22:30. Wojciach Wojdak, 400 free - 3:47:16. Danas Rapsys, 200 back - 1:57:08 and the fast sprinter from Belarus Yahor Dodaleu, 50 fly - 23:59. A great day with great performences!

Today the IRON LADY Katinka Hosszu entered Swim Open Stockholm. Full of energy and with a big smile she´s looking forward to the big challenge racing all events during the competition! But with 3 Olympic Gold Medals, 17 WC Gold medals and 21 EC Gold medals she knows her giant potential. 
You can follow Katinka and the other stars at Eriksdalsbadet 8-11 of April. Morning session starts 09:30 all days, B/C Finals starts at 16:30 all days except Monday (16:00). The A-finals start 18:00 all days. 

If you don´t have a ticket you can follow the A-finals in Eurosport 1, and the morning session and B/C finals in Simidrottstv. Welcome!

The Swedish Coaches Association proudly invite all coaches to an evening lecture with almost legendary Coach Dirk Lange. We meet on Sunday the 9th of April at Clarion Hotel, 21:00-22:30. Dirk is one of the most wellknown and most succesfull of the european coaches the last two decades. He is former headcoach for both the German National Team and also the South Africa National Team. At picture you see him with Cameron van den Burg after the Olympic Gold Medal 2012 in London. Today Dirk runs the succesfull team in Graz.

För endast 49 kr per dag eller 149 kr för samtliga dagar kan du följa Swim Open Stockholms samtliga försöksgrenar och B-& C-finaler.  A-finalerna sänds live på tv (Eurosport 1) med start 18.00. Swim Open Stockholm pågår mellan den 8 april - 11 april. Försöksheaten börjar kl. 09.30 och B- och C-finaler kl. 16.30 (måndag 16.00).

Simidrottstv är Svensk Simidrotts nya digitala plattform. Här kommer du med start från Swim Open Stockholm kunna följa de flesta av våra större simtävlingar i framtiden. För att kunna hålla en fortsatt hög kvalitet på våra sändningar kommer vi att ta ut en avgift som täcker våra kostnader.

We are proud to welcome Karl Forsman, the swedish Paraolympic Gold Medalist to Swim Open Stockholm. Karl won the 100 Breaststroke SB5 in Rio-16 and he is also the world record holder att 200 Breaststroke SB5. In Stockholm we will see him in 50 & 100 Breaststroke, 50 & 100 Freestyle and also 100 Backstroke. Welcome to Swim Open Stockholm Karl!

Today we proudly present the fantastic long distance swimmer Wojciech Wojdak. This magnificant swimmer is polish record holder and we saw him grab the bronzemedal at the world Championship in Windsor, 1500 freestyle, with 14:25.37. At 400 fresstyle he was fourth with the fast time 3:37.90. With Wojciech, the german Wellbrock and the norwegian Christiansen we have a great lineup for the men´s distance events this year!

The Swim Open organization will inform all spectators that the tickets soon are sold out. But there are still tickets to buy for each day (and also the combo for all four days) if you hurry up. You can buy tickets at the online shop this week (more info here) and then get them delivered to your home adress, but on Monday the 3rd of April the online shop will be closed. After that all the eventually remaining tickets will be sold on spot.

Today we proudly present a speciell guest, the hungerian giant Dávid Verrasztó, an IM superstar! Dávid is specialized at 400 IM and has won five goldmedals and five silvermedals at Eurpoean Championships. He was also silvermedalist in Kazan at the World Championship-15.

Fantastic Tuesday - today we very proudly present the Iron Lady - Katinka Hosszu!!! Katinka is the world record holder in 100 IM, 200 IM (long course and short course), 400 IM (long & short course), 100 back (short course) and 200 back (short course). Katinka was the first swimmer ever to hold world records in all five individual medley events at the same time. Katinka was named FINA Swimmer of the Year in 2014, 2015, and 2016. In Rio she won three Olympic Gold Medals. In Stockholm this fantastic swimmer will goes for a new challenge in the career - to swim ALL THE FEMALE EVENTS!!! Welcome to Swim Open Stockholm Katinka!!!

Freaky Friday - Today we proudly present the great team of Denmark entering Swim Open Stockholm! In the fantastic team we will meet swimmers like the Olympic Champion at 50 Freestyle, PERNILLE BLUME, the great long distance swimmer LOTTE FRIIS and the fantastic breaststroker RIKKE MÖLLER PEDERSEN. Today we proudly present the next great team entering Swim Open Stockholm. Team Graz with many of the swimmers in the Team DLP project 2020. In this team we find great swimmers like Edgar Crespo, Claudia Hufnagl, Simon Popelka, Christina Northdufter, Dominik Unger, Katarina Listapadova, Nikola Obravac, Caroline Pilhatsch, Adam Franz and Marco Reiser. From Sweden we also have Johannes Skagius and Axel Pettersson training in Graz.

Today we very proudly present the next superstar entering Swim Open Stockholm - Giedrius Titenis. This magnific breaststroker from Lithuania has five bronzemedals and one silvermedal on his conscience from both European and World Championships since 2009. From the Lithuanian Team we, beside Titenis and Ruta Meilutyte, also will see Danas Rapsys (former European Junior Champion 200 backstroke-13), Andrius Sidlauksas (World Junior Champion breaststroke in Singapore-15) and the great butterflyer Deividas Margevicius.

Today we proudly present the next superstar entering Swim Open Stockholm - Ruta Meilutyté!!! Ruta is current world record holder at 50 & 100 breaststroke in long course, and also at 100 breaststroke in short course. She won the 100 breaststroke olympic gold in London. Altogether she has conquered thirteen international champion medals, nine of the at the top of the podium. Last year at Swim Open Stockholm Ruta won both hte 50 and the 100 breaststroke. Welcome back Ruta!
